Work-study: no tuition fees to pay

By signing an apprenticeship or professionalization contract, you become an employee of the company that takes you on. Your training costs are then covered by that company and its skills funding body (OPCO), and you receive a salary every month. This is the route we encourage: you train, you gain experience, and you pay no tuition fees up front.

Full-time study: fees to plan for

Full-time study gives you student status: you focus on your classes and internships, but you fund your studies yourself. It is a good fit for those who prefer a setting close to the traditional school system. Learn more about full-time study.

Funding support, depending on your situation

Beyond work-study, several schemes can fund all or part of a program. The right one depends on your status (employee, jobseeker, or young person exploring their options). Our role is to inform you, point you toward the scheme that fits your situation, and then help you put your application together.

The personal training account (CPF)

If you have already worked, your personal training account (CPF) builds up credits that you can use to fund a certified program. You can view and use these credits directly on moncompteformation.gouv.fr.

Jobseekers: schemes from the Regional Council and France Travail

For people looking for work, the Ile-de-France region and France Travail fund training programs, sometimes with an allowance paid during the program:

• The Regional Employment Training Program (PRFE): programs geared toward occupations that are hiring, for jobseekers and young people entering the workforce.
• Revenu Jeunes Actifs: for Ile-de-France residents aged 16 to 25, support to train toward an in-demand occupation.
• France Travail support: depending on your plans, France Travail can contribute to the cost of the program or maintain an allowance while you train.

These schemes change regularly and their conditions depend on your situation. Check the Ile-de-France region website and speak with your France Travail advisor. Our advisors help you make sense of it all and build your application.

The AIRE grant no longer exists. The Ile-de-France region's individual regional employment grant (AIRE) has been closed since January 2025. If you were looking for it, turn to the schemes above (Regional Training Program, Revenu Jeunes Actifs, France Travail support), which take over depending on your profile.

In short. With work-study, you pay no tuition fees and you earn a salary. With full-time study, you fund your studies but keep a schedule entirely devoted to classes and internships. Other support (CPF, regional schemes, France Travail) is available depending on your situation.
