Understanding work-study

Learn a profession by putting it into practice

On a work-study contract, you split your week between school and the company. You are an employee, paid a salary, and you build experience that counts for what comes next, without paying any tuition upfront.

Good to know. On a work-study contract, the program is free for you; the costs are covered by the company and its skills operator (OPCO), and you receive a salary every month.

Frequently asked questions

You might be wondering…

What is work-study?

Work-study splits your time between school and the company. You have employee status, you are paid, and your training costs are covered by the company and its OPCO.

How much does a work-study program cost?

On a work-study contract, the program costs you nothing; the fees are funded by the employer and the OPCO. For full-time study, annual fees apply (see the Our fees page).

When can I start a program?

ESIC offers intakes at several points in the year, in addition to the September intake (staggered intake), depending on the program and the places available.

Which qualifications can you earn at ESIC?

State-recognized qualifications (RNCP), from CAP level up to Bac+5, in IT and digital as well as business, marketing and management.

How do I apply?

You apply online. An advisor then supports you, in particular with finding a host company for your work-study contract.
