ESIC is committed to protecting your personal data. This page explains what data we process, why, who it is shared with and how to exercise your rights.
Data controller
The personal data collected is processed by ESIC — École Supérieure d'Informatique et de Commerce, 36-38 avenue Pierre Brossolette, 92240 Malakoff (SIRET 453 035 230 00091), phone 01 53 90 15 20.
What data do we collect?
We mainly collect and process two types of data:
- Applicant and learner data: last name, first name, postal address, email address, phone number, date of birth, résumé and information about your background, as well as any information you provide to us as part of your application.
- Data on companies and professional-training trainees: last name, first name, job title, professional contact details, collected from the employer or from the person themselves at the time of registration.
Why do we process this data?
- to process your application and manage your account;
- to deliver and monitor the training program (enrollments, session invitations, certificates, attendance sign-in, access to the learning platforms);
- to send you, if you have consented, information about our programs and events.
On what legal basis?
Depending on the case: the performance of pre-contractual measures and of the training contract, compliance with legal obligations related to professional training, and your consent for marketing communications (which you can object to at any time).
Who are the recipients?
- ESIC's internal departments in charge of managing the training;
- our data processors and partners, solely to provide the service;
- public bodies or funding organizations, to meet our legal obligations (oversight and funding of the training).
How long do we keep it?
The data required to manage a training program is kept for the duration of that management, then archived until the legal limitation periods expire (contractual evidence, supporting documents in the event of an audit). Data collected for marketing purposes is kept for a maximum of three years from the last contact.
Cookies
The site uses cookies and trackers detailed in our cookie policy, where you can manage your consent.
IP address and location
When you submit a form to us (contact, newsletter, event registration, application), we record your IP address and infer an approximate location from it (country, region, city). This information helps us better understand where our applicants come from and keep the platform secure. It is indicative (often imprecise, and distorted by the use of a VPN) and is never used to make an automated decision concerning you.
This location is calculated locally, on our server in France, from an internal database: your IP address is not transmitted to any third-party service and is not subject to any transfer outside the European Union. This processing is based on our legitimate interest, and you can object to it at any time (see "Your rights"). The location database comes from DB-IP.
Your rights
In accordance with the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to, restrict and port your data.
